Whatnot seller fees explained (2026)
On Whatnot in the US, sellers pay a commission on the item price plus card processing on the whole order. At the standard tier the commission is 8%, and the part of an item price above $1,500 has no commission. These numbers come from the same fee schedule our app uses (schedule 2026-11, effective 2026-11-01).
1. Commission. A percentage of the item price only. It is not charged on shipping or sales tax. The standard rate is 8%.
2. Payment processing. 2.9% plus $0.30, charged on the full order: item price plus buyer-paid shipping plus tax.
The tier depends on your total sales in a 28-day period. The standard tier covers sellers with $0 to $14,999 in sales, and the commission drops for higher volume, to as low as 3% at the top tier. The rate for a period is set by your previous period. Check your own tier on Whatnot's fee page (whatnot.com/seller/fees), because it is the source of truth. If your tier is not the standard one, the numbers below will be different for you.
